Why Develop Future Leaders

Identifying, equipping and elevating emerging leaders future-proofs your leadership pipeline - saving time, saving money, and stopping issues before they escalate.

When you develop leadership within the team, you create a pool of future leaders who know your organisation and culture, and whose skills are being honed for when an opportunity comes along.

Develop Future Leaders

An Emerging Leaders Program, Designed for your Business

No two organisations have the same leadership challenges, people, priorities or timeframe. We build each Emerging Leaders Program around your organisation, your people and the capability you want to develop, rather than running an off-the-shelf program.

Cohort Size

Cohorts run from 4 to 20 participants, with around 16 hitting the sweet spot between diverse discussion and individual attention.

Larger organisations can run multiple cohorts in parallel or sequence without losing that small-group connection.

Program Duration

Programs run from a two-day intensive to a 12-month pathway of workshops, coaching and workplace application.

Short formats deliver a targeted capability boost, while longer ones give participants time to apply their learning and bring real challenges back to the group.

Delivery Format

While we recommend face-to-face delivery for the trust and connection it builds between participants and facilitators, online delivery is available for geographically dispersed teams - and many organisations opt for a blend of both.

Coaching and Assessment

Programs can add individual or group coaching, psychometric assessments and 360-degree feedback, building self-awareness and personalised development goals.

Coaching scales from a single session to a full pathway, depending on the program design.

Timing

We don't run fixed public intake dates.

Your program starts when your organisation and participants are ready, with a schedule designed around your operational needs.

Investment

Cost depends on cohort size, duration, delivery format and the components you include.

We'll have a conversation about your goals, people, timeframe and budget, then design a program that concentrates investment where it will drive real behaviour change.

Topics Covered

Topics vary with each program, but common areas include:

Emotional intelligence - managing yourself and understanding others.
Leadership styles and adapting to different people.
Coaching conversations and when to use a coaching style.
Conflict resolution.
Leading through change.
Problem solving and decision-making under pressure.
Building trust and respect.
Goal setting.

Learning Outcomes

Outcomes will vary as each program is tailored to your organisation, but participants will be able to:

Distinguish leadership from management, and build skills in both.
Assess how their approach affects their people and performance.
Adapt their style to different situations and team members.
Influence without relying on formal authority.
Develop emotional intelligence in themselves and their team.
Coach individuals towards their potential.
Drive high performance and handle conflict constructively.

Benefits of Investing in Future Leaders

Increased Autonomy

The problems that used to go unresolved or go higher up get dealt with where they happen. Managers stop escalating and start deciding.

Difficult Conversations Happen Early

Underperformance and conflict get addressed while they are still small, instead of arriving at HR as a formal matter months later.

Delegation Actually Happens

Work moves, standards hold, and the leader is no longer the bottleneck between their team and the outcome.

You Have a Pool of Talent

When a leadership role opens, you have someone ready - someone who already knows the business, the customers and the culture.

You Retain Staff

High performers who can see a path forward, and who are being invested in, stop looking for roles elsewhere.

Leadership Looks the Same Across the Business

A shared language and a shared standard, rather than each manager improvising their own version of the job.

What is an Emerging Leaders Program

And How to know if your Organisation Needs One?

An emerging leaders program develops your organisation's future leaders. It takes rising talent, mid-level managers and high performers, and closes the skills and confidence gaps standing between them and a leadership role they can step into when needed.

So how do you know if you're at that point? Here's what to look for:

A strong performer gets promoted and struggles more than anyone expected.

A manager avoids the conversation they should be having, so the problem isn't resolved.

You're planning succession in a scramble instead of ahead of time, because nobody's really been prepared for it.

You can't think of anyone internally who's ready to step into a leadership role.

This usually isn't a talent problem.

The people are there. They just haven't had the chance to develop into it yet. That's where we can help.

Client Testimonial

Before starting the Emerging Leaders program, my Supervisor lacked the confidence to take initiative and lead when it really counted. They'd come to me with every issue — big or small — and really struggled with the idea of conflict or stepping into uncomfortable situations. It became especially difficult when I was on leave and unreachable, knowing I'd likely return to a pile of problems waiting.

Since completing the program, the change has been incredible.

Their confidence has grown massively. They're making decisions, managing challenges independently, and taking ownership in ways I hadn't seen before. The program helped them break through the barriers that were holding them back and gave them tools they actually use.

They've stepped up into tasks like debtor control and even run team meetings — things they wouldn't have touched a few months ago.

And on my most recent leave? Not a single phone call. They just handled it.

The Emerging Leaders program hasn't just improved their capability — it's changed how our whole branch operates. I'm seriously impressed, and incredibly grateful for the support they've received.

FAQ

An emerging leaders program – also called a future leaders program – develops people either moving into leadership, newly in it, or high-performers with the potential to lead. The program helps build people-side skills technical ability doesn’t cover –  feedback, delegation, difficult conversations, accountability and decision-making.

Behind those micro-choices are expectations that people learn and respond to – and that are unique to your work environment. See ‘what is culture change’ for more on this.

First-time leaders, newly promoted managers, supervisors, team leaders, 2ICs, and high-potential staff identified for succession. It also suits experienced managers who have been leading for years without ever receiving formal development.

Our facilitators bring decades of real leadership experience, not theory for theory’s sake. They share the challenges they’ve faced and the wins they’ve earned, so the learning is grounded, relatable and something participants can put into practice immediately – guidance from people who genuinely understand what it takes to lead. What we do is what sets the program apart. How we do it is what makes it work. And why we do it is what keeps us committed to seeing your organisation succeed.

Every Corporate Emerging Leaders Program is tailored to your organisation, so length varies – from a focused 2-day intensive to a 12-month pathway. Talk to one of our facilitators about what would work best for your team.

We can run this program anywhere in Australia – from Melbourne, Adelaide and Darwin, to Ballarat, the Barossa Valley and across Tasmania. We can also run this program online, and for organisations spread across multiple sites, the program can run as a blend of in-person intensives and virtual sessions.

We offer a range of in-person and online corporate training programs including:
